Jeff S is inspired by the intimate waters of northern New Mexico, and the fly rod he chose reflects the spirit of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, where small creeks like Costilla Creek wind through breathtaking landscapes and hold fast-moving rainbow and native cutthroat trout. In these tight quarters, precision and quick tip recovery are essential—this rod is built for exactly that experience.

Crafted from hand-split Tonkin bamboo, this 7’6”, two-piece rod with dual tips delivers a smooth, responsive 4-weight action ideal for small-stream fishing. Darkened nickel silver guides and ferrules are wrapped in a harmonious blend of brown, orange, green, and gold tones, evoking the natural palette of the region.

The build is finished with an elegant chevron weave and presented in a traditional rod sock, then housed in a six-sided hexagonal tube crafted from bird’s-eye maple—offering both protection and a presentation as refined as the rod itself.
