David J., who owned an oil business in Houston, made it a tradition to host his customers each year with a fishing tournament in the bays of Corpus Christi. To elevate the experience, I partnered with him to create four custom baitcasting popping rods—each built on G. Loomis blanks, fitted with flor-grade cork grips, and dressed with titanium guides. Above the foregrips, a striking blue and gold complex weave added both elegance and individuality to these rods.
